The Stainless steel Cut pieces are manufactured from a Nickel-chromium based alloy which also contains additions of Carbon, manganese, and silicon. The Chromium content in the SS Cut pieces helps them to exhibit greater resistivity against corrosion and oxidation. The ASTM A240 SS Cut pieces are the most widely used stainless steel grade and can resist a wide range of atmospheric environments and many corrosive media. The SS Cut pieces also offer excellent forming and welding characteristics. They can be welded by all standard fusion methods, both with and without filler metals. When welding thin sections in the SS Cut pieces, post-weld annealing is not required. The ASTM A240 SS Cut pieces are also very good at resisting oxidation and can perform well in intermittent service to 870 °C and continuous service to 925 °C.
Applications of the Stainless Cut Pieces are widely found in the industries such as architectural, and transportation fields. Chemical containers, Woven or welded screens for mining, etc. are manufactured using the SS Cut pieces. Architectural paneling, railings & trim are also manufactured using the Architectural paneling, railings & trim.
