SS 310S Sheets/Plates are highly alloyed austenitic stainless steel plates that can be used for high temperatures applications. They can be used at temperatures up to 1150°C in continuous service, and 1035°C in intermittent service. With less amount of carbon than Grade 310, the Grade 310S sheets and plates have a lot less of embrittlement and are less sensitive during service. High chromium and nickel content make these ASTM A213 SS 310S sheets and plates capable of reducing Sulphur atmospheres containing H2S. Due to its low magnetic permeability, the grade 310S sheets and Plates are usually used in cryogenic applications. SS UNS S31008 sheets and plates are fabricated at temperatures ranging from 975 °C to 1175°C and go through a process of annealing to relive all the stress from the forging process. Type 310/310S steels and plates can be welded using all of the common welding processes.
