The Stainless Steel 316L Circles are produced with a lower carbon alloy which is Nickel and chromium-based. The UNS S31603 SS Circles also contain tiny additions of Manganese and Nitrogen. The ASTM A276 SS 316L Circles are resistant to sensation (grain boundary carbide precipitation) due to the lesser carbon content in them. The SS 316L circles are austenitic in nature and offer excellent toughness, even down to cryogenic temperatures. At elevated temperatures, the UNS S31603 SS Circles also offer higher creep, stress to rupture and tensile strength. The SS 316L circles are subject to stress corrosion cracking above about 60 °C. At ambient temperatures, the ASTM A276 SS 316L Circles are resistant to potable water with up to about 1000 mg/L chlorides. They also offer excellent welding properties and can be welded by standard fusion and resistance methods, both with and without filler metals.
